Who is Melchizedek?

Melchizedek, also means "Adoni-zedek" as seen in the Book of Jasher 16: 12. Before the Children of Israel were led into Canaan to dispossess thirty one Kings and occupy it, by the leadership of Moses and Joshua, that Holy Land known as Jeru' salem has always been there.

Melchizedek is the King of Jerusalem. He is referred to as Adonizedek also. The fascinating thing about this King is that he is referred to as a priest of G-d. See Ge 14:18  "And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God."

Remember, also that Abraham discomfited four Kings in other to free Lot his brother who had been taken captive by these Kings. See Jasher 16: 1 - 5.  
Genesis 14: 14 "And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan.
15  And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.
16  And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people.
17 ¶  And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king’s dale.
18  And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God.
19  And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth:
20  And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.


According to the Book of Jasher 16: 12

Jasher 16: 11-12 "11 And Adonizedek king of Jerusalem, the same was Shem, went out
with his men to meet Abram and his people, with bread and wine, and they remained together in the valley of Melech. 
And Adonizedek blessed Abram, and Abram gave him a tenth from all that he had brought from the spoil of his enemies, for Adonizedek was a priest before God."

It is very striking to note that the same word "Melchizedek" means the same thing as "Adoni-Zedek". From his name, you can decipher the meaning since Adoni means G-d.

This name is very significantly since scripture describes him as a Priest of G-d. And he is referred to as the King of Salem that is King of Jerusalem. 

Heb 7:1  For this Melchisedec, king of Salem, priest of the most high God, who met Abraham returning from the slaughter of the kings, and blessed him;

To further prove the fact that the Kings of Jerusalem before the Children of Israel took it for a possession were referred to as Adoni-zedek, see Joshua 10:1

Joshua 10:1  Now it came to pass, when Adonizedek king of Jerusalem had heard how Joshua had taken Ai, and had utterly destroyed it; as he had done to Jericho and her king, so he had done to Ai and her king; and how the inhabitants of Gibeon had made peace with Israel, and were among them;

This Adoni-zedek must be an offspring of the former Melchizedek or Adoni-zedek whom Abraham gave tithes to. However, this one obviously did not know or serve the G-d of his father seeing he had no discernment about Israel ( whom Balaam had discernment about).

This reveals a mystery about "Jerusalem". Jeru' salem simply put means "city of Peace". Jerusalem is indeed a very Holy Ground and a very holy land belonging only to Adoni or G-d!

Hence, G-d chose Jerusalem as the place for his Temple bearing his Ark of Covenant! 

Jerusalem is made a land of Priests and hence, G-d commanded that the Levites dwell there in order to continue in their priestly ministry. 

It is also noteworthy to see that the latter King aka Adoni-zedek of Jerusalem fought against the people of G-d - Israel since he had no discernment like his father who recognized that Abraham was a Prophet of G-d. Hence, he was slain by Joshua and his land was taken. He did not recognize that he was to be the "priest" of G-d and this cost him both his life and land. 

Some Words about Jerusalem

Matthew 23:37  O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, thou that killest the prophets, and stonest them which are sent unto thee, how often would I have gathered thy children together, even as a hen gathereth her chickens under her wings, and ye would not!

Lu 18:31  Then he took unto him the twelve, and said unto them, Behold, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things that are written by the prophets concerning the Son of man shall be accomplished.

Luke 21:20  And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh.

Luke 21:24  And they shall fall by the edge of the sword, and shall be led away captive into all nations: and Jerusalem shall be trodden down of the Gentiles, until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled.

Luke 24:49  And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.

Matthew 5:34  But I say unto you, Swear not at all; neither by heaven; for it is God’s throne:
35  Nor by the earth; for it is his footstool: neither by Jerusalem; for it is the city of the great King.

Revelations 11:2  But the court which is without the temple leave out, and measure it not; for it is given unto the Gentiles: and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

Revelations 11:8  And their dead bodies shall lie in the street of the great city, which spiritually is called Sodom and Egypt, where also our Lord was crucified.

Our Lord was crucified in the city of Jerusalem!

The Threshing Floor of King Ornan aka Araunah

1Chronicles  21:20  And Ornan turned back, and saw the angel; and his four sons with him hid themselves. Now Ornan was threshing wheat.

1Chronicles 21:23  And Ornan said unto David, Take it to thee, and let my lord the king do that which is good in his eyes: lo, I give thee the oxen also for burnt offerings, and the threshing instruments for wood, and the wheat for the meat offering;

Ornan also known as Araunah #1Ch 21:15  was a Jebusite who dwelt in Jerusalem before it was taken by the Israelites. The destroying angel, sent to punish David for his vanity in taking a census of the people, was stayed in his work of destruction near a threshing-floor belonging to Araunah which was situated on Mount Moriah. Araunah offered it to David as a free gift, together with the oxen and the threshing instruments; but the king insisted on purchasing it at its full price #2Samuel 24:24 1Chronicles 21:24,25 for, according to the law of sacrifices, he could not offer to God what cost him nothing. This shows us that all those who ruled Jerusalem were King-Priests since the inception of that city. From Melchizedek even to King Ornan or Araunah.

Jerusalem's Holiness has nothing to do with the children of Israel since it has been Holy since the days of MELCHIZEDEK!

Another proof of this truth is that King Cyrus being a Persian King gave the command to rebuild Jerusalem and yet he was not a Hebrew or Jewish King!

The Bible is the most profound book ever to get into man's hands. It is a great gift from God and the
Father of our Lord Jesus Christ to all his kids and the entire mankind. Whenever I need to understand
history I resort to this precious book. What is history? This is simply a record of past events and what
is Prophecy? Prophecy is the record of future events.
A whole lot of us need to understand how to dig into the word of God and find out hidden and
revealed truths about the present time and future events rather than keep "forecasting" aimlessly like
those magicians and sorcerers of Egypt and Babylon. They failed to produce results when the issue
was most critical.
If you, as a saint would like to be like Joseph of Egypt or Daniel of Babylon ,then seek wisdom through
the Bible - the Best history book of all time.
Now, coming to the discussion of today. Two key countries stand out in the above scripture and they
are "Libya" and "Ethiopia". However, I have dealt a little on Egypt in my earlier blog. Now, I will like to
dwell on Ethiopia. When we talk of Ethiopia, then I would like you to look geographically on the globe
to locate where Ethiopia is.

Why is Ethiopia so significant throughout the Bible? First of all, I like you to understand that the
Ethiopians have a common characteristics which is their unique colour and stature especially[Isaiah
45:14]. If you are an avid Bible student then you must have come across this proverb "Can an
Ethiopian change his skin?" It shows us the unique "brown" or "dark" skin complexion attribute of
those of Ethiopian origin.
I need you to understand something very important about Ethiopia...This kingdom has been
organized and founded as far back as when God separated nations in Babel. [See Peleg in  Gen 10:
25]. It might interest you also to know that Moses' wife was of Ethiopian origin. [See
Numbers 12:1 ]. Moses even faced issues because he married outside of his Israeli origin. If you can
fathom the time of the Pharoahs of Egypt, then know and understand that Ethiopia existed as far back
 as that same time. These is a lot of instances where the keyword "Ethiopia" comes up in the Bible.
You can just do a search with the keyword "Ethiopia" here
 Also remember Queen Sheba who visited King Solomon when she heard of his wisdom(1 Kings 10:1). Also understand that during the Neo-Assyrian Empire
 there was a well known King in Ethiopia known as "Tirhakah king of Ethiopia".
You will find the mention of him during the expedition of Sennacherib of Assyria[2Kings19:36] against
Jerusalem. [2Kings 19:9 & Isaiah 37:9]. So you see, Ethiopia now renamed "Africa" by the so-called
West has been in existence since the times nations began to exist in this world. I believe this should
comfort a lot of "blacks" there who seek their missing "origin". It is not missing because the evidence
is the shrunk Ethiopia, Addis Ababa that now is in the African continent.

Before today, that empire was very influencial and strong too. See! You Africans have a real heritage.
Having said all that as introduction, I will focus us back on my discourse which is not about Ethiopia
but about Africa as a Country. The Prophecy of Daniel mentioned that African would be at the steps
of the Anti-Christ. When I saw that in Daniel 11:43, I wondered at why? Today, we hear of the
Eurozone crisies impacting on key African economies. Why? African has been overly reliant on their
Western friends and so-called allies. At every count, African countries keep seeking aid from the
West. They keep crying for help or aid from the US or UN. This has put Africa in a precarious position with
respect to her decision making since the "borrower is subject to the lender" Proverbs 22:7. How will
Africa be able to free herself? May be it is too late or may be she can make an attempt at least by
stopping the act of always seeking for "aids" from the West or others.
When I read that the Eurozone crises was affecting African nations, I simply smiled because I am
well equipped with information about the future. Please do not miss the point. That Scripture speaks
about nations that now exist on earth.
Now I hear you answering my thought "Why won't Africa be at his steps". And this simply means that
Africa would naturally carry out his biddings. Have you wondered why Africa's poilicies are always
being molded from somewhere else? The African leaders are simply not in control. They have made
themselves slaves through aid collection. lol.
Today is humanitarian aid and tomorrow it is another "XYZ" aid coming to Africa. When will Africa
stop collecting aid?

Comparative analysis of Babylon - Old and New

The ORGANIC  Structure of BABYLON

Ancient Babylon of Nebucahdnezzar has the organic structure of UNITING the world under one king or ruler. Hence, Daniel referred to Nebuchadnezzar as a "King of kings" Dan. 2: 37

"Thou, O king, art a king of kings: for the God of heaven hath given thee a kingdom, power, and strength, and glory."

Hence, Nebuchadnezzar united the whole world under one administration.

ADMINISTRATIVE Structure

King Nebuchadnezzar also had rulers representing diverse provinces across the globe in his ruling Councils.

Therefore, it was no surprise that King Nebuchadnezzar recruited also royal kids such as Daniel in his council of counsellors. Hence, he instructed that they carefully pick out

"Children in whom was no blemish, but well favoured, and skilful in all wisdom, and cunning in knowledge, and understanding science, and such as had ability in them to stand in the king's palace, and whom they might teach the learning and the tongue of the Chaldeans." Daniel 1:4

Also King Nebuchadnezzar had governors, sherrifs and satraps (Daniel 6:6)by which he ruled Persia, Media and Grecian regions even unto the Ethiopian (African) countries. He divided these regions into provinces.

GEOGRAPHIC location of Ancient Babylon

The Bible shows us that Babylon was located around the River Euphrates. This can be confirmed by one of the Prophets of old by name Jeremiah who was told by the LORD to bury some of his belt or girdle in the Euphrates as a testimony of Babylon coming to take Jerusalem captive. Hence, geographically it must have been situated between the Tigris and the Euphrates

King Nebuchadnezzar testifies of the lesson the LORD taught him for boasting in his strength. Read the whole of Daniel 4.

We soon found out that BABYLON was defeated by the Medes and Persians under the rule of King Nebuchadnezzar's son. See Daniel 5: 31. After the defeat of Belshazzar king of the Chaldeans, Dairus the King of Medes took over from Babylon to continue World Rule. Daniel 5: 31.

MAGIC!

We also see abundantly from the scriptures of Prophet Daniel that magic, astrology and sorcery were the major means of seeking wisdom under the Ancient rule of Babylon. Today, we must be hearing those words "magic" a lot of times in TV commercials and other advertorials.

"Then came in the magicians, the astrologers, the Chaldeans, and the soothsayers: and I told the dream before them; but they did not make known unto me the interpretation thereof." Daniel 4:7
King Nebucahdnezzar of Babylon often resorted to magicians, sorcerers and astrologers for interpreting of difficult puzzles or mysteries and appointed  Daniel the chief of them even though Daniel operated by the Spirit of God, Jehovah of the Hebrews.

The was just as the Pharoah of Egypt did and many other monarchs in their times.

"And it came to pass in the morning that his spirit was troubled; and he sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, and all the wise men thereof: and Pharaoh told them his dream; but there was none that could interpret them unto Pharaoh." Genesis 41:8
The practice of magic is the same means irrespective of geography. It is an art.

The ECONOMIC System of the Old Babylonian Empire

The economic life or fabric of the Old Babylonian rule was dominated by TRADE and merchantilism which introduced the use of precious metals like gold as a means of exchange for value.

THE FALL OF BABYLON

The Bible showed us the cause of ancient Babylon's fall.

Belshazzar, whiles he tasted the wine, commanded to bring the golden and silver vessels which his father Nebuchadnezzar had taken out of the temple which was in Jerusalem; that the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, might drink therein. Then they brought the golden vessels that were taken out of the temple of the house of God which was at Jerusalem; and the king, and his princes, his wives, and his concubines, drank in them." Daniel 5:2-3

COMPARATIVE ANALYSIS OF THE OLD AND NEW BABYLON

In spite of warning not to use the holy vessels of the God of the Hebrews, Belshazzar, son of Nebu went ahead and even after using such holy vessels, he attributed the glory to his gods of gold , silver, iron etc
What followed was the Judgment of Babylon by the God of the Jews.
You remember the MENE MENE TEKEL UPHARSIN inscription on the wall? See Daniel 5: 25-27.
His Kingdom was DIVIDED unto the Medes and Persians.

We also read in Reveleations 16:19

"And the great city was divided into three parts, and the cities of the nations fell: and great Babylon came in remembrance before God, to give unto her the cup of the wine of the fierceness of his wrath."
This is the beginning of God's judgment on Babylon when it finally fulfils its vision of desecrating the Holy Temple of God in Jerusalem right in Israel in the middle east. The Bible clearly depicts that Babylon would be destroyed by a conspiracy which God would determine in the mind of 10 nations referred to as "ten horns" on the beast upon which She rides.She rides on this "beast" and believes she is safe from any trouble but she will be disappointed in the last days.
The New World Order which she will usher in will not be controlled by her but will be hijacked by the Anti-Christ.
Revelations 17 talks of the clues to this New Great Babylon. She sits upon many waters which is peoples, multitudes, tribes, races, nations and tongues. See Rev. 17: 15.

I hope you understand...think of the US Diversity Lottery and understand who this new UNITER is. She re-unites the world into the New Babylonian empire and seeks to control the Kings of the earth through the mechanism of the United Nations.

2. Geographic location
Whereas the Old Babylon was situated around the Mesopotamia, this New One is located in the North of America.
And its hill or administrative headquarters is the Capitol Hill in Washington DC.
She is arrayed in "...purple and scarlet colour, and decked with gold and precious stones and pearls..." Rev.17:4
You should understand that at least the US flag has a RED or scarlet colour on it.

3. MAGIC?
Yes and abundance of it. The United States of America being now the New Great Babylon also makes use of this art and also combines it with Christianity just like the Old one also sought counsel from wise Daniel of the Hebrews. Hence, "in God we trust" depends on what god you are referring to. That must be a personal matter of course as it never said in Jesus or in Yahweh or Jehovah we trust.

4. GREAT BABYLON'S FALL

The fall of the New Great Babylon would also like the Old one be because it fails to reverence the God of the Jews - the Monarch of this Universe as it seeks to enshrine its own doctrine, policies and so-called New World Order on God's earth.

Reason for her judgment? She made all nations drink of the wine of her idolatry "fornication"

"For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies. " Rev. 18: 3.

Read Revelation 17 and see that there are seven kings (Rev.17:10) and now now rules the world and when the Last comes it must continue for a short space...
